The Battle of the Bartenders returns to the Links Club in Carmel Plaza on Monday, September 8, kicking off seven weeks of fierce competition. Eight bartenders from top Monterey establishments—including Stokes Adobe, Lalla Grill, Hotel 1110, Salty Seal, Hula’s, Kona Grill, Cello, and The C Bar at InterContinental Hotel—will face off for the Monterey championship and a chance to claim the title of Best Bartender on the Monterey Peninsula this winter.

Each week, two contenders go head-to-head, crafting signature cocktails for the judges and audience. Attendees can sample six featured cocktails and cast votes for their favorites. City champions win $500, with the overall champion earning a $1,000 grand prize. The competition culminates in November when Monterey and Pebble Beach/Pacific Grove winners challenge Carmel-by-the-Sea’s reigning champions for the ultimate title.
