Marina State Beach and Other Parks

If there’s any space left on your digital camera’s memory stick, a trip to Marina State Beach with its unique Central California flora and fauna should put you in megapixel overload. The beach is the premier hang gliding spot in Central California because of its steady winds, great launching area, and the wonderful views from above. Try out hang gliding at Marina State Beach or skydive from the Marina Municipal Airport.

Things to Do in Marina

Stroll down the beach and soon you'll be in Fort Ord Dunes State Park, once a military artillery range and now home to threatened bird and plant life. Or you can hop on your bicycle and check out the amazing trails at the Fort Ord National Monument or head all the way south to Pebble Beach on the Monterey Bay Coastal Recreation Trail. Check out this list of "Top 10 Bike Rides" for other great biking trails in the area and this CSUMB Community Bike Map with various trails in Marina and Seaside.

Traveling with kids? Check out the Civic Center Community Park Playground that just reopened with new equipment.

New to Marina is the Urban Wine Row. Here you can taste Monterey wines at three different tasting rooms in Marina's hip business district.
