SALINAS RIVER STATE BEACH

Surf fishers find the fish are always biting at Salinas River State Beach, and birders frequent it to spot elusive shore birds. It is also a popular horseback riding spot. It should not be confused with Salinas River National Wildlife Refuge, which is approximately two miles south.

Dune Trail

The Dune Trail starts at the Potrero Road Parking Area. The trail follows along the dunes, giving great views of inland areas as well as local wildlife. Please stick to the trail, as dune areas are frequently undergoing restoration and provide breeding areas for several bird species.
