Walker Cup

The 50th Walker Cup Match will take place at the prestigious Cypress Point Club in Pebble Beach, CA. The traditional two'day match-play format features 4 foursomes in the morning followed by 8 singles on Saturday, and 4 foursomes plus 10 singles on Sunday—a total of 26 matches, each worth one point. The USA must earn at least 13 points to retain the Cup; Great Britain & Ireland needs 13.5 to win.

Each side fields 10 male amateur golfers, with the USGA selecting the USA team and The R&A selecting the GB&I team. The captains are Nathan Smith (USA) and Dean Robertson (GB&I). The United States currently leads the series 39–9–1. Cypress Point Club, designed by Alister MacKenzie and opened in 1928, hosts the event for this first time. The course plays 6,620 yards, par'70, featuring dramatic seaside holes and classic architecture on the Monterey Peninsula.
