Monterey County is overflowing with Halloween events (and lots of candy)! Get into the spooky spirit with an event suited for grown goblins and tiny scarecrows.

Saturday, October 5

Carmel's Annual Pumpkin-Rolling Contest is always a unique crowd-pleaser! Participants can pick up a pumpkin on Ocean Avenue at Santa Fe Street and roll it down a specially constructed course as spectators cheer you on. 12pm-3pm. Ocean Avenue between Santa Rita to Junipero Streets, Carmel-by-the-Sea. Free event. 

Saturday, October 19

Take a Pumpkin Plunge at the Pattullo Swim Center in Seaside. Kiddos can hunt for their perfect pumpkin in the pool and then decorate it! 1:30pm-3pm. 1148 Wheeler Street, Seaside. Free event, $7 per pumpkin.

Saturday, October 26

Did you know the City of Carmel-by-the-Sea was incorporated on Halloween? This year they spend their 103rd birthday in style with a Halloween Parade down Ocean Avenue at 11am. Following the parade, the Sunset Center will host an after-party with a hot dog lunch and birthday cake. 11am-2pm. Ocean Avenue, Carmel-by-the-Sea. Free event.

Businesses in downtown Pacific Grove get decked out for the Downtown PG Trick-or-Treating Extravaganza. Just look for the Halloween ribbons and pumpkins outside participating downtown businesses and enjoy live music, entertainment and lots of treats throughout the day! 10am-3pm. Lighthouse Avenue, Pacific Grove. Free event.

Things get creepy at the Pacific Grove Museum of Natural History today. Science Saturday will be full of all sorts of bats, spiders and snakes sure to give you the heebie-jeebies. Daring tots can make a spider web, trick-or-treat around the museum and enjoy crafts. 10am-3pm. 165 Forest Avenue, Pacific Grove. Free event.

Lighthouse District shops, restaurants, and boutiques welcome little goblins with special treats on Halloween. Dress up and come on down to Lighthouse Avenue for an afternoon full of fun and trick-or-treating. 2pm-5pm. Lighthouse Avenue between Pvt Bolio and David, Monterey. Free event.

The Monterey Mirror Maze located on Cannery Row becomes a little scarier when crazy, creepy clowns take over the 1500 square foot labyrinth of mirrors for Halloween. 6pm-10pm. $20 or $10 with a newly wrapped gift for the Boys and Girls Club. 

Prepare to be spooked for a good cause during "Wizards, Witches & Muggles" at Folktale Winery. The Barrel Room transform into Transylvania with live music, a costume contest, wine, food, prizes and more! Proceeds from this event go to AIM, Youth Mental Health. 6:30pm-10pm. 8940 Carmel Valley Road, Carmel. $65

Join Sly McFly's at their Annual Halloween Costume Party featuring The Money Band. There will also be cash prizes to the best costumes and food and drink specials all night long. 9pm. 700 Cannery Row, Monterey. Free event. 

Sunday, October 27

The Barnyard Shopping Village in Carmel celebrates Halloween and Harvest this afternoon with a fun family festival. Stroll through its unique boutique shops and enjoy a costume parade, candy, pony rides, face painting, balloon twisting, giveaways, kids crafts and live music. 2pm-4:30pm. 3652 The Barnyard, Carmel. Free event.

Thursday, October 31

Celebrate Halloween with your family at the Del Monte Shopping Center during Pumpkin Pandemonium! There will be a pumpkin patch, trick or treating, and a balloon artist. 2:30pm-4:30pm. 1410 Del Monte Center, Monterey. Free event.

Trick or Treat by the Bay on Old Fisherman's Wharf! Come in costume and enjoy this free family-friendly event with trick or treating available at participating merchants on the Wharf. 3pm-7pm. 1 Old Fisherman's Wharf, Monterey. Free event. 

It's a special for night for all beasts and beauties at Northridge Mall in Salinas! The Halloween Bash is fun for the whole family with trick or treating, a costume contest, pumpkin decorating and more! 4:30pm-7pm. 796 Northridge Mall, Salinas. Free event.

Celebrate a howling good time this Halloween at Estéban Restaurant’s Costumes and Cocktails. Festivities include special food and beverage offerings for humans and their pets! Costumes are encouraged for all. 4:30pm-10pm. 700 Munras Avenue, Monterey.

The City of Seaside invites children 10 and under to their Annual Halloween Bonanza at the Oldemeyer Center. The spooky family event includes a haunted house, game booths, costume contest, photo booth and candy bags. 6pm-9pm. 986 Hilby Avenue, Seaside. Free event.

Join Monterey Bay Food Tours for a night of ghosts, ghouls and grub as they wander about the streets of Old Monterey discussing some of its most scandalous stories! Along the way you'll eat at some (not-so-haunted) restaurants to showcase some Monterey's best dishes and drinks. 6pm. $99 and up

It's Fright Night at Cantinetta Luca! Don't miss out on some hauntingly delicious spirits, brews and wicked bites. Wear your best costume to be eligible for our competition in one of three categories: creative, classic (think mummy or vampire) and best overall. 6pm-10pm. Dolores Street between Ocean and 7th, Carmel-by-the-Sea. $60

Quail Lodge & Golf Club hosts trunk-or-treating and a special golf cart drive-in movie showing of “Hocus Pocus”. Trunk-or-treating is free for the public to attend, with a complimentary bounce house and refreshments/snacks available for purchase.  Afterwards, trunk-or-treaters can settle in for a golf cart drive-in showing of “Hocus Pocus”. 5pm. 8205 Valley Greens Dr, Carmel-by-the-Sea. Movie showing is $15 per adult and $10 per child.
