The Elkhorn Slough National Estuarine Research Reserve is 1700 acres and located at the east end of the Slough, inland from Moss Landing. It is one of many access points to the Slough, but is a great first stop when planning your visit. The Reserve has 5 miles of trails that meander through oak woodlands, wetlands, and meadows.

We have established safety protocols for reducing the spread of COVID-19 on the Reserve based on guidelines from the Center for Disease Control, the State of California, and Monterey County. You can find all the details about the Reserve’s safety protocols below.

Entrance fee is FREE at this time. The Reserve is open Wednesday thru Sunday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
