An award-winning plein air painter and equestrian enthusiast, I have called the scenic Steinbeck Hills of Monterey, California home for more than 30 years.
My work exists in the balance between chaos and calm, expressed through a muted palette punctuated by moments of bold saturation. Each painting seeks to capture nature at its most poignant, layering atmosphere and emotion in a way that eliminates any possibility of stillness or boredom. Thick and thin strokes of oil paint merge in rhythmic harmony, reflecting the transient beauty of my subjects.
Guided by intuition, I am drawn to seascapes, landscapes, and horses—subjects that embody both energy and fragility. Through dramatic atmosphere, expressive color, and motion, I strive to create narrative works that breathe life into each scene and honor the urgency of the moment.
