Sanctuary Cruises
Year-round whale watching and special charters on the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary. Come aboard the vessel Sanctuary for an eco-friendly, personal, educational, and up-close experience with the marine mammals of Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary! We provide smaller tours (usually around 25 passengers) to give you the best opportunity to spot whales, dolphins, sea otters, seals, and sea lions in their natural habitat. Our trips are longer, which means more time to find and spend time with these fabulous creatures! Owners Captain Mike and Marine Biologist Dorris run the trips as a team to ensure you have the best possible experience with the Monterey Bay wildlife. Both Mike and Dorris each have a lifetime of experience in seamanship, marine science, and education to give you the best trip possible! Other good news about Sanctuary Cruises: With our See-A-Whale Guarantee, you'll get a great view of the animals or your next trip is free! Our 72 hour cancellation policy gives you some flexibility in case "life happens!" We are family and disability friendly! Kids may even get a turn at the helm! We love the ocean, so the Sanctuary has been outfitted with new John Deere Biodiesel engines. Our vessel runs on 99% clean burning biodiesel made from recycled vegetable oil from local restaurants.
