The evening will engage the senses through visual art, music, flavors, scents, storytelling, remembrance and human connection, with the goal of creating something immersive rather than simply presenting an art exhibition.
Guests will be encouraged to participate in the community ofrenda by bringing a photograph, memento or remembrance of someone meaningful to them. They will be able to meet artists, experience the traditions surrounding Días a los Muertos, and purchase artwork directly supporting participating artists and HDS’s work with young people in East Salinas.
They are also encouraging people to have some fun with the evening and dress as their favorite artist or creator — an artist in any sense of the word — or come dressed as a Catrina or Catrín.
