The hit HBO show "Big Little Lies" didn't just bring Monterey County's stunning scenery right into our living rooms (and onto our list of dream vacations) — it also brought the star-studded cast to Monterey County. Although it's been confirmed that the show won't be returning for Season 3, we're hoping to see these ladies around town again for a visit! It wasn't too long ago that the cast was enjoying themselves in Monterey County while filming the first and second seasons. Stars like Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon, and Shailene Woodley were spotted at some of our favorite Monterey hot spots. Here are a few star-studded sightings that stand out:
Reese gets lost in a book at Happy Girl Kitchen: The "Big Little Lies" star and executive producer was seen flipping through her recent book club selection at this chic coffee bar in Pacific Grove.
Nicole makes some winged friends at Lovers Point Park in Pacific Grove: Kidman, who won an Emmy and a Golden Globe for her stunning turn as Celeste, was seen hanging out with some gulls at this scenic seaside area.
Reese hits the links at Pebble Beach: Witherspoon proudly declared herself a golfer after visiting Monterey County's most iconic golf course. Nice form, Reese!
Girls' night out at Del Monte Movie Theater: Reese and co-stars Laura Dern, Zoe Kravitz, and Shailene Woodley went to see Shailene's new movie at this Monterey multiplex.
Meryl joins the crew at Monterey Lanes: New cast member and three-time Oscar-winner Meryl Streep joined the girls for a night of bowling, beer, and billiards!
Reese, Nicole, and Shailene go for a very intense jog: Shailene and Reese turned a popular scene filmed at Garrapata State Park into a funny Emmys-related meme. All three were nominated and Nicole took home the gold.
No wonder the "Big Little Lies" cast has so much chemistry on screen — they’ve been having all sorts of fun bonding experiences and picture-perfect moments all over Monterey County! And they've also clearly bonded with Monterey itself, a place that has become a palpable presence of its own on the show. As all these sightings attest, the whole cast has developed a serious taste for the wild beauty of this iconic Californian superstar.
